2006 Chevy Silverado dies while driving

Asked by Lori Sep 23, 2018 at 04:36 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1LT Extended Cab 2WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My grandson has a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500, 6 cyl; 4.3 litre engine which
dies while driving with no check engine lights. We had codes for crank shaft
sensor and catalytic converter which we fixed and also replaced the starter
which had a bad solenoid. We're at a loss of what else it could be, we are
thinking fuel pump. Any other advice?

Change out rubber gas lines going to the fuel pump assembly from metal gas line from vehicles frame could be collapsing shutting off gas flow then returning to normal size when vehicle sets for awhile. I know Ford F-150 is good for this happening. because it happened to me. I know you have a Chevy but it is worth taking a look at.

My 2005 is doing the same thing and will crank right back up. If it was a fuel line cracked wouldn’t you get some sputter and slow refire? I’m assuming it’s fixed, what’s the verdict?
