Asked by John Feb 11, 2019 at 08:52 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had the pitman arm , idler arm, wheel hubs,
upper control arms, lower ball joints , front shocks,
inner and outer tie rods replaced in the last 3
weeks and I still have this wandering steering
problem , so much so it almost feels as if the
driver's side front wheel wants to buckle under the
suspension, plus tremendous play in the steering
wheel sometimes and it shakes like a carnival ride
at times. I bought this truck (2005 Z71 5.3 L V8) 2
months ago with 260,000 miles because it has  a
brand new engine and the body is in excellent
shape. It drive great when I bought it , then I
started hearing that"popping" "clunking" noises
from the suspension and it hasn't been the same
since. Please help !

Haven't checked those , not sure what it is to be honest. You mean the shaft and bearing.

Check your brake calipers, found mine locked up (driver side)

Did you find the issue? When I had all those items replaced, the tech put my center steering link on wrong, this made it impossible to turn sharp corners.
