I've had an epidemic of heat/cool problems on GM's from 2000 up to about 2006 and most are due to the air mixer vents. These vents are vacuum controlled through a rotary switch that selects upper, lower, ac,def. ...etc I'm finding the O ring seals are leaking and causing hot air when you want ac or visa -verse . Try rotating the switch to see if it resolves the problem ... if it does ... it needs to be replaced because rotating the switch is only temporary ... the problem will return
