Can you swap tail lights

Can you take the tail lights from
a 2000 chevy silverado tail lights
and use them on a 1990 chevy
silverado

Actually let me clarify- you cannot swap them without reconfirguring the wiring and mounting brackets on the bed, not to mention they aren't the same size.

Do you need to whole tail light system or just the lens. Look up in JC Whitney, they can tell you what years match. I have 2003 and most of my parts go from 1997 to 2004, but not on all and depends what extras you have. Because of the computer you need to make sure it is the same wiring harness, you could confuse the computer.
