Wet plugs might not fire? How long since its had new plugs and wires? Are the plugs gapped correctly?

I checked the gap at .060. The plugs, wires, cap and rotor have 5,000 miles on them. I have had this problem sense the truck was new. Gm is not able to find the problem.

Rainy day no starts normally means moisture out of the air is getting into or shorting out either the wires, coil or distr.

Lots of owners questioning the proper gap for your model truck. From what I have found it has been changed from 060 to 040 with the newer style of plugs.

my book calls for a .060 gap on 4.3 engine, but this could have changed.

Here something else i found. What type plugs are they? The iridiums are gapped at .040 & the platinums are gapped at .060 & you should not try and change them.

make sure the spark is a good hot blue colored spark. Anything less will cause issues. The rainy day this makes me think of the cap and rotor.

How about a good time to give up....? Purchased the Construction WT 18 months ago has had every problem on here and then more since day 1. I have spent many hours on most of the ideas, and they have been helpfull... but the feelings now are why this truck is different from the rest of em?

I think Chevy dealer should make it right I have a 1939 chevy ,1970 chevy ,1974 chevy , 1979 chevy , 1990 Chevy all trucks then I have a 2004 Chevy truck they all will start on rainy day but my 2004 I am a Chevy girl but after the 2004 Chevy I don't know if I like them much any more I love my old trucks but the new one is a piece of shit

replace the cap and rotor with the most expensive one you can find at the auto parts. The china crap has internal cross firing problem. GM designed the cap to fire on the side the correlating plug, thus creating a condition that contributes to cross firing and missing.

No answer have same problem with 01 been to 3 different mechanics. Changed all censors, rotor and cap, plugs and wires. Still won't start, guess I'll wait 3-5 days and see if it will start.
