4 wheel drive problems

my transfer case would not engage into 4wd,i finally got it to go into low range and then the transmission started to slip,i got it back into low range,i continued home after it stopped slipping and it would go from low into high and then stayed in low for the remainder of the short trip,when I got back to my house I tried it again and it went rite into high.what might be the issue? thank you

Possibly a bad control valve in the tranny. Researched some possible solutions. There's some additive called Valve/Guard for transmissions. Try adding that. If that doesn't do the trick, I would say it's off to the transmission shop. Usually the only thing that cures a bad tranny is a rebuild.........
