Truck is shuttering

Asked by Johnnyrocketnewyork Apr 16, 2017 at 08:19 PM about the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Chevy 1500 Z71with the 5.3L
V8 . I've had a problem when I'm driving
down the road and I give the truck a little
gas it starts to sputter and I have to give it
more gas to down shift and get out of it, it
does the same thing when I'm going up a
hill ( it has the 4l60e in it) I'm about to have
the trans rebuilt but if I don't have to I don't
wanna. I thought maybe the torque
converter but honestly I don't know. I need
some help.

i haven't checked that yet, my neighbor is a mechanic and he said his truck was doin the same and it was a tourque converter. I just changed the throttle position sensor and my rear break caliper bc it was sticking but that didn't change anything.
