Truck Not turning over

Asked by Giovanny Feb 08, 2016 at 10:04 AM about the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS Extended Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My truck won't turn over. Or it has a hard time. It's a
98chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab automatic trans.
Replaced spark plugs and wires but problem still persists.
Checked under the hood and a spark came out of the
undercarriage. There is a loose sensor but idk what it's
called or how to replace it. Help!

You can check the basics. If it cranks good, but, won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs, where applicable. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check for fuel injector pulse. How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? As far as a loose sensor or wiring connector, I can't see anything from here?

Hey thanks for the reply. Yeah I checked everything. I searched online which led me to the knock sensor wire. It's loose and there is definately a spark coming from there. I wish I could show you a picture but idk how to upload it here.

Maybe you can replace sensor or wiring connector? The info I looked at was for c1500--5.0L engine. By the picture, it appears to be close to starter.

Yeah I'm with a mechanic and he said it was a faulty starter. Thanks for your input Hopefully it's not too pricey.
