Will a motor from 1997 Grand Prix GTP fit into a 2002 Monte Carlo SS???

It should, both the 97 Grand Prix GTP and the 02 Monte Carlo SS used a Series II engine. However, the 97 GTP has the supercharged L67 variant, while the 02 Monte Carlos SS uses the NA L36 variant. Further from 2004-2005 Chevy produced the Monte Carlo SS Supercharged which also used an L67 engine. It would be worth a shot to ask if anyone has done a swap from an 04-5 SS Supercharged to an 02 SS body, since the GTP and SS share engines.
