Question type: Maintenance & Repair

How do I tell what transmission I need to replace the
burnt out one I have in my 2000 Monte Carlo SS 3.8?

It doesn’t but I found the code M15 in the trunk. A guy I know has a transmission for sale out of a 2000 model Grand Prix, will this transmission work?

Just not real sure, ask on a new thread. I heard the impalas were and grand prix's if you pull yiurs and get the same part numbers on your for the replacement, they have to be the same as-well as the torque converter part numbers, and the diff end has to be removed from yours to go on the grand prix trans-axle or you get a code with check light stays on all the time.
