Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was just wondering if anybody
could give me a ballpark number for
paint repair costs. My o6 malibu
maxx isnt rusting at all but has some
chipping around the wheel wells. Im
wondering how much it would cost
to get all the little chips fixed.
Nobody around here will qoute me
unless I come in, thanks.

That's the thing right there, they won't give you an estimate or firm number because they don't know how bad it is. If you are talking about chips a mm or two, you can get some touch-up paint and DIY and save a TON of money, it won't be/look professional, all that is for you to decide how much you are willing to spend, how important is is to you for it to look perfect. But on a 10 year old car, and chips the size of a dime, they will have to paint the entire area and it will be very close but never a perfect match for rest of car. I can tell you paint work is expensive. Two wheel wells? They will want to do the whole fender and you will be fortunate to get out of there for under $800.. a wild guess understand...but a few years ago I tapped an Accord at 2mph with my truck and put a scratch in the (plastic/fiberglass?) bumper about 3" long and no dent. I didn't claim it, don't want my insurance to get any higher than it already is and I paid $450 out of pocket
