transmission 2006 2500 chevy express

Asked by spawnbike Feb 16, 2014 at 07:35 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Express Cargo 2500 RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Forgot to hit tow button while towing, 80 miles down road lost allot
of power and smelled the hot tranny. It now seems to be stuck in
second gear wich I'm guessing is limp mode at least I hope it is or
did I F the tranny up. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

2006 2500 chevy express I think 4.7 liter motor

Only way to tell is have a shop inspect it, tow haul changes shift points and locks the converter up earlier so you don't overheat the trans. Possibly just a burnt solenoid, and you are correct about the limp mode.
