My check engine light came on yesterday

Asked by Jul 25, 2017 at 10:49 AM about the 2006 Toyota Corolla LE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light came on yesterday on my 2006 Toyota Corolla, although
the car still seems to be running fine.  I took the car to auto zone to have the
codes checked, and the problem codes were po171, po138 and po606.  The
car has about 115k miles and the ECM was replaced under recall at about 45k
miles.

P0171 is a lean code, P0138 is an O2 code, P0606 is an ECM code. Read the article in the address I posted. Seems like you need to replace the O2 sensor on Bank one, Sensor 2 due to the P0138 and the codes should disappear. Sensor 2 means the O2 sensor after or downstream of the catalytic converter. http://www.iatn.net/forums/13/55176/toyota-p0606-dont-replace- the-ecm
