2 cars. 1 seized engine and 1 blown transmission

4 months ago, my car was totaled when hit by a Bud Light truck. Wasn\'t
worht much, $2000. I am a single working mom and I needed a car for my
job fast and cheap. I bought a 94 Ford Escort  wagon with 71000 miles for
$1500. It was fabulous for 59 days. Then the engine seized. It seems the
oil pump had stopped working along with temperature gauge and anything
else that would have told me that something was wrong. The dealer I
purchased it from has not returned my calls. By scraping and burrowing I
found another car, a  2000 Ford Taurus 63000 miles $1850. After driving it
for 6 carefree days the transmission blew. This dealer said it must be
something I did and would not give me my money back. Can I take these 2
lemons and put them together to make some kind of Lemonade? Which
one would be more worth fixing? what is the least expensive way to make
either of them work? Help!
