How long before i change my brake pads on a toyota camry 2007 xle V6? How long before i service(oil
& oil filter) considering the fact that car is about 5yrs and over 50,000 in mileage?

Yeah, the oil-change joints say 3,000 miles but that's baloney... like Tom said, personally I go 7,000 miles maximum. Or a year., tops. But if you happen to drive on dirt/dusty roads often, all bets are off on that. Then cut it to 5,000 or less.

i personally (when using regular engine oil), go around 5000, but always use a better grade filter, (personal preference), transmission fluid/filter, every other oil change, again with regular oil, brake pads, are harder to say, pending driving style, (my wife it seems ever other freaking month), front pads should have indicators on the front, and since 70% of braking is done there, rear, can go quite a bit, if you don't drag the rears, a good 100,000 maybe.

That got me thinking John, who does make the better grade filters? I know I won't buy a $1.99 Pep-Boys POS but, Fram? Manufacturers Toyota filter? The ones they use at the chain-store joints I refuse to allow to be put on my car because of that very fact, I believe the use the cheapest ones they can get, probably made in China or Timbuktu

my individual opinion: fram was designed/ partner with Ford...such as ACDelco-GM, not sure your geographic location, I prefer Mann Filters, for all imports, do you have access to a parts company name CPI, ICP, same thing, car parts international, international car parts, highly recommended, only one s I try to deal with...hope it helps
