Will my 4.6L v8 from my 1995 thunderbird fit into my 1996 thunderbird that has a 6cyl in it?

Asked by Mar 20, 2017 at 04:42 AM about the 1995 Ford Thunderbird LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Which parts will need to be swapped out in order
for this to work ..

The problem is that the '95 engine is controlled by an OBD1 computer and the '96 is controlled by an OBDII computer, so not real compatible. Plus going from a V6 to a V8 creates more issues. This is possible to do but it is a ton of work. The computers and wiring harness would have to switched out which is the biggest thing.
