its common to have a rear diff noise on the crv's. make sure the fluid is topped off first. diff tread depths on front and back can make some noise, but make sure the tire pressure is 30 psi. do 28 psi if you can.

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. 2002 CR-v just went in for two new front tyres (rears are about 30% life left), and on return there is a whining noise while coasting/decelerating between 20-25mph and 30-35mph. Sounds like it is coming from the back of the car but can't be sure as it fills the cabin. Did you get a resolution?
