there is a key in the remote 08+ 05-07 models came with actual keys . Use that key for the lock cylinder located towards the trunk area right above lic plate mounting point. Once it is open there is a metal cable with a plastic handle that can be pulled to open the driver side door,

If this said key is missing you will need to take the vin number to your local chevy parts counter and verify you are the rightful owner and they can have one for in in a day or two.

Just locked my keys in my c6 GS after fiddling awhile I found that if you place a towel between the door and the side glass and place a small piece of metal in there, you can tape 2 hangers together and shimmy it down to the emergency door release. Work great for me with no scratches afterwards.
