how do i price my car to sell?

Asked by foglark Mar 12, 2010 at 02:59 PM about the 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe RWD

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am selling an 87 camaro.  I am the 2nd owner and both of us owners have taken very good care of it.  It does need paint because it has metal showing on top and back of car.  it has cracking on the dash as well as some old upholstery.  the car itself runs fantastic.  I have only had to replace a couple of hoses, battery, tires and air compressor.  it has over 100k miles on it too.  What is a reasonable asking price to sell in my local area...not online?

Look it up on kbb.com... fill out all of the info. and try to get between 5 to 15% more than what they tell you it's worth. (buyers usually understand that everyone does this) personally id pay about $4500 depending on specific mileage and amount of chasis/body rust/wear.

try 2500 and put best offer those cars sell for around that depending on the motor and condition if you have a v6 try 1500 to 2000

kbb online doesn't go to 1987...I have not sold any cars before as this was my first car. Maybe I have overlooked something. Thanks very much for your advice...
