Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just put a new distributor on my 89 camaro.  I have now been told that since I kept cranking it to start it.  That my started can't be disingadged.  Where can I find my starter at on the car to change it.  Someone said it was by the transmission on the under side of it but I have looked and can't find it.  Thanks

Hi mollylou. I couldn't find the specific location of the starter on your Camaro. You can drop a dime to your local Chevy Service Manager who will point you in the right direction or you could try your local library. They probably have the Chilton's for your car and that should give you the procedure. If you are going to be doing this sort of work you should probably own a repair manual and you can probably purchase one at your local box box parts store. Failing all of that the guys at the counter of the parts store are usually fairly knowledgeable in these areas or they know where to find the answer. Good luck!
