As for 2008 BMW has the 1 series 3 Series 5 Series 6 Series 7 Series Z series M Series and X series dunno if im forgetting any but if u wanna go into specifics, each model is made by the engine capacity ex. the 3.5Liter I6 in a BMW 535i will have the numbers 35 at the end..following the 5 indicating the series ex. the 5.0Liter V8 in a BMW 7 series will be called the 750i the letter "L" stands for elongated wheel base "X" for all wheel drive "i" for petrol and "d" for diesel.... hope that answers ur question lol

except, you aren't 100% correct. any car with 35 at the end, is actually the twin turbo 3.0l i-6, any car with 28 at the end is a 3.0l i-6, 23 ie: 323i, is a 2.5l i-6. the v-8's are different as well. 45 at the end is a 4.4l v-8, 50 is a 4.8l v-8, and so on. Well, this is for most markets anyways. Steve, BMW Technician

There is also a 8 series. You can check out all of the models at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW

I think they were asking about current models, the 8 series was diccontinued in the mid 90's, but might be making a comeback as a 4dr in the next few years.
