Vehicle shaking

Asked by Jul 20, 2017 at 09:57 PM

Question type: General

I have a 2004 jeep laredo 149000 miles. Whenever
I hit a bump in speed, car shakes violently. It feels
as if the wheels want to fall off. I currently only
drive locally because I feel unsafe. What could this
be? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Have the front end checked over, you could have worn tie rod ends, idler arm and possibly worn ball joints, I would also recommend that you have a steering dampener or sometimes it's called a shimmy shock, it will also help with this problem that a lot of 4WD vehicles have as they get a little age on them.

Ok...thank you. I did get the steering dampener done before. Some one else was saying the ball joints as well, and the springs. Thank you for the feedback, it's appreciated.
