I have a 2013 ford escape . Took
it to auto zone and they came up
with a code but didn't know what
it meant,  the code is P26B7

I guess they don't know what they are doing. I made appointment for next Monday at 10am can i still drive it until then?

I think this is a PCM memory code which indicates a faulty coolant bypass solenoid. Link to follow.

As far as driving it what are the symptoms?

Most likely the coolant bypass valve has a piece of scale caught in it not allowing it to close properly.

I had this code P26B7 recently. Bought a Water pump at Aurozone and fitted that at Pepboys. Costs of parts were around $53 including pump and Coolant. Pepboys charged $220, which i could have haggled or went to other place and got done at probably $100-120. Ford dealer asked $450 including taxes and parts. Pepboys took 1 hour to complete the job. Now its all fine.
