Will a 99 Ford Explorer transmission fit in a
97 Ford Explorer I have a 99 Ford Explorer
and has been wrecked airbags have been
deployed but I believe the motor and
transmission tires Etc or all good laughing
on the 97 Ford Explorer with the
transmission that starting to act up

You can find this out by checking with any place that has an Interchange Manual, all scrap yards, pull-a-parts, most repair shops, dealers, etc., will have one. We can't answer your question because we don't even know what engine is in either of your Explorers. You can also check the door tag on both vehicles, you'll find a code for transmission type and rear axle. Keep in mind your engine computer is programmed to work with a specific tranny and axle gearing. Before resorting to swapping out a tranny, have you ran it on a diagnostic stand? May be something like a torque converter or shift solenoid. Can save you a lot of needless work.
