Probably a Ford FE/FT engine but I think there were a few engine options. BTW I have a 1963 F800 fire truck but it has a 332 Y block version of the Lincoln automobile engines. I think this was the only year for this engine. How about a photo of the engine?

There is a possibility that you have a Super Duty engine - read the description here ---- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Super_Duty_engine

I need to find out for sure as it needs a new carb.

Just take the old carb in and the auto parts store can match it up.
