I have 98 5.7 gmc, will 97-99 fit

Yes it will since all those years have the OBDii pcm

Well are you putting back in a 5.7L or not? The 4.8, 5.3, 5.7L V8 motors will all bolt up. They all use the same OBDII computer. They all have the same fuel pressure requirements. The only thing you have to worry about is setting the motor up the same as the one that comes out, so all the plugins will attach to the different sensors. The OBDII should have enough range to adjust if a different cubic inch. Worst comes to worst, you get the OBDII flashed to the engine specs.
