Where can I search the serial #?

Question type: General

I have a 1949 GMC 100 Series truck waiting for resortation. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place I could search the serial # on the door frame plate? Thanks!

GM Historical services will send you a nice packet for around $70 that includes original selling dealer, decoding of all relevant trim codes, etc., original options, and so forth. Well worth it.

under the hood on the firewall,or open the door and look close to the hinges on the CAB side.I had a 1941.
