Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello I have a 2008 Nissan Altima I just bought it an
hour ago. When I drove home everything seemed
fine turned it off went inside a couple mins. Then I
leave again the car will go through 1st 2nd and 3rd
but won't come out of 3rd. 60mph almost 4000
RPMs. I remember on my way home I got it up to
80 but I didn't look at the RPMs Bc it was just a
quick second to feel it.  But I think I would have
noticed if the RPMs way up there which is where
they'd be based on 4K at 60mph. Anyone else have
that issue or any advise?

You are correct that the engine speed is too high and that you are not getting top gear. I would check the ATF level and have the trans checked out by a good shop.
