Do I have a blown head gasket?

I own a 2005 1.8 Vauxhall Astra. I believe I have a blown head gasket. I
have no knowledge on cars but I have researched about this problem and I
can seem to relate on this. Apparently if you have white smoke coming
from your exhaust pipe, it could mean you have a blown head gasket.
When my car is stationary there is quite a bit of white smoke coming out of
the exhaust pipe. It really doesn't seem normal. My old car which was a
Vauxhall Corsa never had this problem so this is totally not normal and I'm
concerned. The guy who sold me the car said there's white smoke coming
from the exhaust because of the cold weather. Yes it's cold but I don't
believe this guy. Why isn't there smoke coming from other people's cars
then? Because it's not normal. I'm due to take my car to the garage so
mechanics can come to the bottom of this problem. But I would like to know
how much this would cost in the United Kingdom to fix a blown head
gasket?
