Are smart cards safe?

Hi Bellini, The cage does hold up surprisingly well in a collision, but you are right, the passengers may not fare so well. Follow the link below to the smart videos and you will see a crash test of smart fortwo. fyi, that car is the European version/ old version. I think the newer one gained 2 inches in length. When the smart came out in europe (1998), a german car magazine let it crash with a mercedes benz s class. the result was surprisingly good, the passengers survived in both cars with minor injuries. the only problem on the smart where the cheap wheels, one rim was breaking, and the spokes where where blocked in the tarmac, so thats why the car fell on the side.
