How to really buy a car with CarGurus?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I have had the worst luck with Car Gurus.  It appears that all the cars listed
are cars that were recently sold.  I have been to 9 dealers to look at cars
listed here.  I even made appointments to some and verified the car was still
in stock.  I get there and mysteriously it has been sold.  So I tried by calling
from 10 feet in front of the dealerships. Within the 60 seconds, it took to walk
in the door, the car was again mysteriously sold.

"Bait and Switch" is alive on CarGurus! I have been to 4 states now, and they all are the same. The great deal is the bait and CarGurus appears to the chum bucket.

Try a better class of dealers. Were these used car lots or major new car dealers that also sell used cars?

I've had the past 5 cars mysteriously sell the night before. Last one, I asked for a bill of sale and was shown, by the sales manager, a computer 12 line print out of the 2 cars that were sold the night before. My kid can create that word document as well.
