1999 ranger engine swap

I'm wanting to put a v8 into my
ranger but as it is rwd I'm not sure if a
5.0 v8 will work in it. Would I have to
swap out the transmission as well or
will this only work in a 4x4?

This would be a major project and it would be very difficult to make smog legal. Check out the Ranger Station for V8 conversion information.
