HELP please...i need an inexpensive car ASAP

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I currently have an '08 Jetta with too many issues worth fixing.
We are trying to find something more reliable but inexpensive.  I'm needing
opinions on whether we should pay about $6700 total for an '07 camry with
145000 miles or $6900 '08 sonata with 80k or $6900 for '08 tucson with
109000 or 6700 for an '04 crv with 100k.  they only want to give $500 for the
trade in but I'm hoping to pay $5k cash plus jetta.  I don't know if they will go
for that.  I wish the jetta didn't have so many issues because I really love it.

I would start by having a mechanic quote you a repair price for the '08 Jetta. Remember, those other cars might be a headache too. Don't tell anyone how much you have to spend. Remember, the Jetta and all those other cars have a timing belt needing replacement soon or overdue. ($500+)

I would pick the CRV out of that list. How a vehicle has been serviced is still VERY important. A well maintained and taken care of Honda CRV should have lots of miles left in it. The Toyota would be my second choice and I would avoid the Hyundais.
