Can I change engines smoothly from a 2001 Ford expedition to a 2003 expedition

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay I have a 2001 Expedition Eddie Bauer edition.
I just recently found a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie
Bauer edition with the engine problem that's not
running. I'm wondering if I take the engine out of
my 2001 would it fit in a 2003 comfortably easily
and successfully??

The 2001 Ford Expedition and the 2003 were equipped with the same V-8 engines, the 4.6 and the 5.4 Liter Triton 16 valves; in 2003 the 5.4 Liter 24 valves was added. There should be no mayor problem swapping the engines, it will require knowledge, time, patience and the proper tools. I know from experience.
