Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Looking at new AWD small SUVs. Would likely buy Honda, Subaru or Toyota
(hate they lowered RAV ground clearance!). Do turbos cost more to maintain?
Are they more reliable (or worse) with certain brands? Thx!

It is a matter of opinion and personal preference. Today many cars are factory equipped with turbos and are reliable. Non turbos rate equally in reliability, but in both cases some makes are a bit more reliable than others. I have found that turbos are no more expensive to maintain than non turbos, I have had 4. My wife drives a 2016 Ford Escape and so far we have never had any issues, so far this vehicle is looking as the best of all the ones we had. Also, unless you plan to keep the car for a long time, the warranty will cover any problems that you may have with the vehicle. Go online and check surveys, from reliable sources, not advertisers, and you can have an idea of what to expect...more or less.
