shipping a vehicle

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

I am thinking about buying a car from a private party. I am located in a different
state and will be buying it without actually seeing it.  I also need to have the car
shipped.  How do I make sure that I am getting what he is advertising and that
the car is shipped to me without any issues and how do we transfer money and
title, etc.  Is there a service like a dealership that can take car of all of this??

FIRST, I WOULD NEVER BUY A CAR THAT IS OUT OF STATE, you have no protection at all...NO WARRANTY, NO RECOURSE. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THE DEAL....You are asking for problems, I do care what the seller says...

You really really REALLY need to go there in person and look it over and finalize the deal. You're just asking to get burned. It's also very expensive to ship a car. It could easily add several hundred to the price of the car. It would have to be exceptional or rare car to make it worth all the additional expenses and headaches to buy out of state. PS: if you try to get quotes from any online car shipper, USE A THROW-AWAY EMAIL ADDRESS. They will spam you for YEARS after you contact them.

PPS: another tip, find a local car shipper and ask them for a lead for an out of state shipper. Those online quote web sites are just brokers, they only add another layer of cost to the shipper. I had a shipper that would have charged me $300 to ship a car 600 miles. The online quotes were $600-1,000. They were doubling the costs just for their overhead and profit. Stay away from those types of services.
