1995 Ford Ranger starting issues/trannsmission in safe mde

1995 Ford Ranger intermittent no
start with multiple failures. First, the
power lock/unlock only works for
passenger door. Then I started
coming out to start it and it wouldn't.
Still has power to lights, radio, etc.,
but not making any sound when key
is turned.  Disconnecting battery and
waiting would make it start again.
This kept happening.  Fluid levels are
good, suspected parts passed failure
tests. Fuel efficiency began to
decline dramatically. Then began to
not drive when put in gear unless car
was warmed up. After all this it went
into safe mode. Now it starts better
than it. ever did and won't move an
inch in any gear.

Also, check engine light never came on....except a couple times when I was low on gas it came on and shit off after i put the gas in.
