Project car

Question type: General

I'm looking for a good cheap project car that I can
make to my dream car. I'm looking for something
that can burn rubber and jet off. But below $5000.
And I want it to be a car you usually don't see in
public. Anybody got any ideas???.

Something from the 60's or early 70's.

Burn rubber and jet off? Grow up young man. Get you some cheap dependable transportation. With a $5000 budget there is not a lot you can do.

Late '60s or early '70s GM or. Ford full sized models. Back in the '80s I once smoked a (new) '88 Monte Carlo SS in my '66 Cadillac Sedan! Ah the good old days!! Cars like that had large powerful engines and transmissions. Not so much for performance, but for smooth running characteristics. They also got 6 MPG around town and required premium leaded gasoline. At GM 1971 and newer models can be run safely on unleaded. Not sure when Ford switched. Stay away from Chrysler Products!! Nothing but trouble there!! HTH. -Jim

Foxbody Mustang, plenty of aftermarket parts to make it your own or as fast as you want.
