Hello Sir i am planning to buy car but totally confused  whether to opt petrol
or diesel. My monthly running would be around 1500km n highway driving
First thing i heard a lot about government planning to ban diesel cars or
impose 10 years ban pan india. Second thing is difference in prices of petrol
n diesel is not major. Earlier i was thinking about swift vdi which would cost
around 7. 5 lac n might be maruti will increases the prices of new swift then
paying around 8 lac on a small hatchback is good decesion or not because
around 8.5 we can get i20 sport. Also, if we can invest in i20 then ecosport
base variant might be good choice. Please suggest me whether diesel or
petrol n swift i20 or ecosport. I am looking for good milegae better
performance good driving quality

Diesels are good for long distance highway driving, which you said you do. If you we're only driving short distance in town, I would say, purchase the petrol version. Up to you what you'd like to do based on price of fuel and upkeep should be about the same. Good Luck!
