To answer this myself, we had to use the long block of the PI motor. Using valve covers, oil pan, oil pick up tube and screen because the size difference, exhaust manifolds also to hook into Mercury exhaust system. Throttle body, fuel rails from the Mercury but kept the spark coil packs from crown Vic , although after driving 50 miles it threw a code for catalytic converter which indicates the catalytic converter is insufficient on bank 2. The engine fit and runs well and in conclusion it will require a little tune up to get thru emissions test BUT it did work and that was a junk yard motor, compression tested only
