Which cars for 2014-2017 time frame are safest in crash tests?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am looking for a used sedan or possibly a crossover vehicle because I'd
like a smaller car for city driving, but AWD for country. I am having trouble
finding good stats. because the ratings do not compare apples to apples and
also because they include things like backup cameras as part of the ratings. I
know Volvo S60 and Subaru Legacy are way up there, but I am looking for
something smaller than those mid-size sedans, without sacrificing safety.
