Misfiring is a sign of faulty spark plugs or coils, and has nothing to do with your serpentine belt, but those need to changed out every 100K, so that is out of the way. If you do have a major misfire, the check engine light should be on. Scan for the fault codes. Did you ever replace the plugs yet?

Do you mean "timing belt" not serpentine belt
