Can't figure it out

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1985 Ford f150 5.0L 302 v8 EFI is cutting
out during acceleration and while driving
(any speed, any gear) what is the problem
and how can I fix it.

Have you tuned up the engine lately? Changed filters?

I did a tune up hoping it would fix it but it didn't and I have changed all the filters.

Did you change plugs, wires, cap and rotor? How did the old plugs look? Changed the fuel filter?

Yeah and they looked really rough but the truck sitting for a few years and yes I changed the fuel filters.

Your fuel system is probably gummed up. I would use a good fuel system cleaner. You may need to use several applications before it clears up. Personally I like to use Techron at double strength.
