I need to replace front control arms on 2009 E350, with 144,000 miles. Cost @ $3000, worth it?

Thanks. It is. Mercedes Benz, the cost is @ $2500 for the repair and @ $500 for 2 new tires. Just trying to decide to repair or replace.

It's worth making the repair but that price is outrageous. Shop it around, you can probably find a mobile mechanic that would do the repair in your own garage for a lot less than that.

Two different shops, said price for oem parts were $590. One shop said @ 11 hours to replace. $100 an hour. @ $2500 for work, $500 to replace two tires that are worn on inside.

Are we talking uppers and lower? Was this vehicle in a wreck? Why replace the control arms, were they damaged - if not, why not just the bushings? You can look up prices online. According to Alldata/ARRC it takes 1.5-1.7 hours to replace both lower control arms. I didn't see a time est. for uppers, but figure a little more than double that time. BTW you didn't specify Mercedes in your post title, I think we were all replying based on a Ford E350 (van), so yeah being a MB you'll pay a lot more.
