On a 2016 f150 3.5 turbo where
should licence plate go?

The front plate should go in an indentation in the bumper. If there is no indentation, most two-plate states say that the front plate must be placed no further than 6" in any direction of the front-most point of the vehicle. So, you can go up to 6" to the sides, up, or below.

Read your owners manual! If that does not answer your question ask your local Ford dealer.
