Can I put a 2001 pontiac
grand prix 3.8L in a 97
pontiac firebird with a 3.8L

I would check to see if the motor mount locations and bolt pattern are the same. One engine is a transverse mount and the other is a longitudinal mounted engine.

You could swap the crank (after machining) and probably the rods but not the pistons. Just rebuild the old engine if that is what you are attempting to do.

Yes I have the other engine after a deer hit the car and was trying to utilize that engine to save money
