Truck will not start even with spraying a starter fluid in carburetor

I have a 1989 GMC Sierra SLE 350 engine I just
replace the fuel filter only because I thought it was
eight getting the fuel properly and today I was
driving and it just cut off in the middle of the road it
would not start back I can hold the pedal to the
floor and turn it over and have to so many rotations
it we will try to far but will not crank any
suggestions
