The Ford Eco-Boost F150 for gas and the Dodge 1/2 ton diesel.
The Dodge 1/2 ton Eco-diesel diesel is a piece of junk that is having numerous engine failures and lots of other problems. A friend of mine had a new Ram Eco-diesel and it was in the shop more than out on the road. The engine finally blew and he made Chrysler trade him out of it. The last time it took over 3 months to get it repaired. The Ford with the "baby" Ecoboost (2.7 L) will probably get the best, but they are all very close in the MPG department. My 2014 Dodge Ram 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi will get around 18 mpg on the highway. I had a 2013 Ford F-150 Ecoboost 3.5 and it got about 17.5 average on the highway. In my opinion the Ford was a better built truck than the Doge I currently own.
