According to the U.S. Department of Transportation the average annual miles driven, updated July 2016, is approximately 13,500. Therefore I would expect a 5 year old car to have approximately 70,000 miles on it.

Good answer, Lightning- if you have time to answer crazy questions like this, you deserve a "helpful"

Different cars (and their constituent components) have their own individual lifespans. Knowing the average amount of miles a car of a given age has traveled is rather meaningless piece of information.

I already received the sensible answer I was looking for. But thank you for taking the time to respond.

There is no "should" just an average.

I did already, thank you for your time!
