Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I’m hoping someone cane help me with this. I have a 92
Olds 88 that randomly shuts off while driving without
warning. I can throw it in neutral and start it right back up.
No check engine light so I can’t slcheck for codes. I
noticed the other day when I went to start the car it made
one “click” sound, then nothing. Took a few times to get it
started. I’m thinking this might have something to do with
the fact it’s randomly shutting off?

I checked the relays last night, those are fine. Haven’t checked the starter yet. I was messing around with it this morning and noticed when the headlights are turned on, or when any additional power is used it idles really rough. The lights do dim and the turn signal is much slower than normal, sometimes it just doesn’t work. Maybe the alternator is going out?

Put a voltmeter on battery with car running and turn on several high drain accessories and see what the voltage is. 13.5 at the lowest and 14.8 at the highest. Alternator test
